Royalty Analyzer: Hear what your sales are saying.
You download your royalty report, scroll to the monthly total, and close the file. The answers you wanted are in those rows somewhere, and you do not have a free weekend and a spreadsheet habit to dig them out. With Royalty Analyzer, you can read your sales in plain sentences and put the dread behind you. Your next promotion, ad, or price change can start from your own numbers instead of a hunch.
Included with membership at $10/month or more.

What changes
Your sales data is trying to tell you something
You have been carrying a vague worry about whether your marketing is working. Here is what it feels like to set that worry down.
The spreadsheet stops being scary
You used to scroll to the monthly total and close the file. Now you read your sales the way you would read a note from a friend who is good with numbers, in plain sentences and with no pivot tables to build.
You can tell which efforts were worth it
The BookBub deal, the podcast interview, and the ad campaign stop blurring together. You get an informed idea of which ones paid you back and which only kept you busy. It is an estimate, and you stay the judge.
Your next budget decision gets lighter
The monthly total tells you how you did and nothing about why, so money and hours often go where instinct points. Choosing where next quarter's budget goes feels less like a coin toss when you can see what your own numbers suggest.
You find good news you did not know you had
A backlist book may be quietly earning more than your new release, or a market overseas may be selling while you are not looking. Finding out is a small thrill, and it gives you something to build on.
When you will reach for it
The moments a plain answer helps most
Most authors open their sales numbers at the same few moments, usually with a knot in the stomach. These are the moments that get easier.
The week after a big promotion
You wonder whether the deal was worth the price and the effort. You get an informed answer while the memory is fresh, and a clearer idea of whether to do it again.
The night before you book the next ad
You hover over the button and hope. You can look at what your past ads seemed to do first, then book the next one with more confidence.
When a book that used to sell goes quiet
You wonder what changed, and whether that price change helped or hurt. You can look for what lines up with the slowdown instead of lying awake guessing.
The weeks after a new release
You hold your breath to see whether readers go on to the next book. You can stop refreshing the dashboard and look at the bigger picture.
Planning night, or the week before your tax appointment
You sit down with numbers you understand and walk in knowing your own business. Whether it is next quarter's marketing plan or a meeting with your accountant, you are not starting from a shrug.
Bring your sales report and marketing dates
You bring
Your KDP lifetime daily sales and KU reads report as an .xlsx file, plus a short list of your marketing dates, such as a launch, a BookBub deal, a podcast interview, or the day you started ads. KDP promotions, Amazon Ads, and Facebook Ads reports can go in too.
Your sales data stays private. Author Media does not store, track, or view what you post. The AI services use business APIs with privacy set to the maximum.
You get
A plain-language read of your sales, an estimate of which marketing moves helped, and a list of what to do more of, fix, and stop. You can reply in the chat to ask about your own numbers.
Royalty Analyzer works from the records you give it and is built around Amazon KDP reports, so sales at other stores do not appear. What it finds about a promotion is an estimate and not proof, since overlapping efforts and a small number of sales are hard to separate. It does not give tax or legal advice, and it cannot promise your sales will grow.
KDP royalty report questions
What is Royalty Analyzer?+
You deserve to understand your own sales without becoming a spreadsheet expert. If you publish on Amazon KDP and want your sales and marketing results in plain language, Royalty Analyzer is for you. It is an AI tool from Thomas Umstattd Jr.
Who is Royalty Analyzer for?+
If you publish on Amazon KDP and have some sales history, it is made for you. That includes indie authors of fiction and nonfiction, from a few books to a long backlist. If you are traditionally published, you have no KDP report for those books, so it only helps with titles you publish yourself. If your first book is not out yet, there is nothing to look at yet.
Does it work if I publish wide?+
Many authors sell in more than one store, and it is fair to wonder whether this still fits. You can still learn a lot from your Amazon sales, which is what a KDP report covers. Sales at other stores are not in that report, so they are not part of the picture.
Which KDP report should I download?+
Getting the right file is the easy part. Open the Royalties report in your KDP Reports dashboard and download the lifetime daily sales and KU reads report. It carries the most history, which gives you the most to learn from.
What if I never kept a marketing log?+
Most authors did not write everything down, and that is normal. Rebuild what you can from your email, your ad dashboards, and your calendar, and a list of dates is enough to start. Every date you remember gives you a clearer answer.
Can I add my Amazon Ads and Facebook Ads reports?+
Ad money is where the worry usually lives, so yes, bring your ad reports along, and any others you think will help.
How do I know if my promotion worked?+
Wondering whether that BookBub deal or ad push was worth it is stressful, and a hunch is not much comfort. You walk away with an informed estimate drawn from your own sales and the dates you provide. It is an estimate and not proof, because several promotions at once are hard to separate, so use it alongside your own judgment.
Does it cover series read-through and Kindle Unlimited page reads?+
If you write a series, you want to know whether readers keep going to the next book. Yes, you can see how readers move through your series and how your Kindle Unlimited reads add up, whenever they appear in your report. It cannot tell you what you would earn selling somewhere else instead.
Can I ask follow-up questions about my numbers?+
The first answer usually raises a better second question, and you should not have to wait or build anything to ask it. You can keep the conversation going in the chat and ask about a specific book, month, or promotion.
Will it make my sales go up?+
It is natural to hope a tool can fix your sales, and nobody can promise that. What you gain is a clearer view for deciding where to put your time and money. Your sales still depend on your books, your readers, and the market.
Will it do my taxes?+
Tax time is stressful enough without guessing. No, Royalty Analyzer does not do your taxes and does not replace an accountant. For tax questions, Not a CPA is a better place to start.
Can I run it again after my next promotion?+
You can look forward to the next promotion instead of dreading its results. Yes, come back with a new report and your new dates whenever you have credits.
Is my work private?+
Yes. Author Media does not store, track, or view anything you post to this tool, including your sales figures and marketing dates. The tools reach each AI through its business API with privacy set to the maximum, so the AI companies do not train on your numbers.
How much does it cost?+
Royalty Analyzer is included with any Novel Marketing Patreon membership of $10 per month or more. That membership also unlocks more than 80 other author tools in the Patron Toolbox. AI tool use draws from your membership's credit balance, and the amount used varies with the request.
