Every month, we build websites for authors. It’s what we do.
Until now, we’ve been launching them quietly, letting the authors do the celebrating. We decided that it’s time to change things up.
Every website is a work that almost everyone at Author Media is involved in. It’s a big deal to us and an even bigger deal to our clients.
In January 2013, we launched three websites for new authors. Even though they bought the same package (the Bronze level), their websites came out incredibly different. This is because they were tailored to each author. There’s really no one-size fits all.
Donna Stanley is a YA author who wanted something dark and broody that matched the tone of YA fiction today without going overboard. She chose the Bronze website package with the MailChimp add-on. She wanted a website that would reach teenagers and also provide her with a way to send them exclusive content via email.
Donna also had us build her business website (yes, we build those as well!).
Expert breeders Jonathan and Donna Stanley have built a very successful business, and wanted a website that was both professional and attractive to potential customers. They chose the Gold Website Package, which allowed them to customize their site so it feels like you’re visiting their property while browsing their site, Endless Mountain Labradors.
Stephanie Landsem writes historical fiction. Her latest novel is set in the ancient days of the Bible. She wanted a website that would invoke the feel of the historic without feeling…well…ancient. She chose a Bronze site with MailChimp and the new MyBookTable plug-in. Now she’ll be able to sell her book from her site without having to fill orders from her garage.
3. Melony Brown
Melony Brown wanted a fun website. Something retro and upbeat that wouldn’t detract from her message of helping women overcome life’s tough challenges. Melony ended up with a Bronze website, working carefully with her account manager to make sure that her site was fun and professional.
What did you think?
There are more websites and authors worth celebrating.
