Print Friendly, PDF & Email

In our last post we talked about creating a pdf. Now, it’s time to upload the file to WordPress. We’re going to show you how to do this in WordPress 3.5. If you haven’t updated yet, we recommend doing so.

Note: in your website, this is going to look like a hyperlink. It may either open the file in a new tab/window, or it could start the download process.

If you get stuck, feel free to leave us a comment.

1. Open the page/post you want to edit.

Open-Post

Or, create a new post/page.

2. Click “add media”.

It’s right above the content area on the right-hand side.

3. In the pop-up window, click the “upload files” tab and then click “Select files.”

4. Upload your PDF.

5. Insert into post.

This is done by clicking the blue button in the lower left-hand button. The text in the “title” field is what will show up in your post as hyperlinked text, so choose it carefully. (In WordPress 3.5, the title often won’t save the first time you insert the file. If this happens to you, just edit the title after you insert it.)

And you’re done! 🙂
